    Economic, social and cultural rights are recognised and protected in international and regional human rights instruments. Member states have a legal obligation to respect, protect and fulfil economic, social and cultural rights and are expected to take "progressive action" towards their fulfilment. As a social work student committed to social justice, I am concerned about where women’s rights stand in America. Like many issues social workers deal with, this problem has many facets branching into areas such as our economy, safety, and basic human dignity.
